A Post by our friends, ByHand Consulting
Karen Gibbs and Colvin English of ByHand Consulting announce a new opportunity for artisan enterprises.
ByHand Consulting is working with George Little Management to launch Artisan Resource, the first US-based trade show designed specifically for overseas artisan exporters to connect with US import buyers. Artisan Resource debuts at the August 2012 New York International Gift Show in Hall 1E at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. This new show is perfectly timed with the growing interest among US retailers and consumers in handmade and socially responsible products.
Artisan Resource, a semi-annual trade show held in August and January, showcases vendors from around the globe offering handmade products and production capabilities at export pricing and terms.
The companies exhibiting at Artisan Resource are carefully selected for their demonstrated export capacity and commitment to design innovation, cultural preservation, social enterprise and sustainability. The product collections featured at Artisan Resource include gift, home décor, home textiles, tabletop, stationary, jewelry, and fashion accessories. Vendors at Artisan Resource offer custom design opportunities in textiles, natural fibers, ceramics, wood, metal, glass, paper and recycled materials.
Artisan Resource is held concurrently with the largest US gift and home decor trade show, the New York International Gift Show (NYIGF), attracting 35,000+ buyers from all 50 US states and 85 countries and featuring 2,800 US wholesale companies.
George Little Management is marketing Artisan Resource to all buyers attending the New York International Gift Show as well as specialized large importers, retailers, designers and distributors interested in handmade and artisan products. Target attendees of Artisan Resource include direct-import retail stores, national chains, mail-order catalogues, wholesalers, designers and sourcing agents.
All buyers attending Artisan Resources are pre-qualified to verify import experience and have special badges. This screening process insures Artisan Resource buyers and attendees are qualified to work with overseas vendors and meet the requirements necessary for import buying.
In addition to the three exhibition days, Artisan Resource offers participants to attend ByHand Consulting’s Market Seminar, a program addressing trends in the US gift and home décor market through panel discussions, presentations and store tours.
ByHand Consulting is supporting George Little Management by recruiting and preparing overseas vendors to participate in Artisan Resource. ByHand Consulting will provide the Market Seminar and will staff the new show with qualified marketing experts with knowledge of the US market for handmade products.
