CORR - The Jute Works was created in 1973 as an economic development trust to provide jobs for marginalized women artisan groups. Over 4,000 women who are members of 214 rural cooperatives benefit from the work of CORR. The sale of handcrafts give rural women the option of working from home and earning supplemental income for their families. Women are provided training, development of leadership skills, health care and retirement assistance while earning a fair wage for their work.
